Grandfather Golf & Country Club (Mountain Springs Master Plan)

Linville, NC

Following construction of the Championship Course, Ellis Maples returned to Grandfather Mountain to design the Mountain Springs layout in 1977. The 18-hole course is mostly par 3's with five par 4's for variety.

Graziani served as the lead design associate under Bobby Weed, ASGCA. Together, Weed and Graziani prepared a comprehensive Master Plan for the Mountain Springs Course. Their examination included all aspects of the course's strategy, condition, infrastructure, and playability. The improvement plan identified critical infrastructure items that needed to be addressed including tree management, drainage, irrigation, strategy, cart paths, and maintenance practices. Increasing the members' use and enjoyment of the course was the primary objective.
